Description of site :

  • 202 furnished flat-share rooms approx. 14 to 15 m2, (a bed and mattress (90x200cm) with mattress coversheet, a table, a chair, a bookshelf, a cupboard), in shared apartments of 2 or 3 with one bathroom (shower, WC, washbasin) or in shared apartments of 4 with two bathrooms (shower, WC, washbasin).
  • all apartments have shared fitted kitchen and living room.

  • telephone and TV socket in each room plus internet connection.

  • there are a few rooms available for the physically disabled.

  • 48 furnished studio flats (a bed with mattress (90x200cm) and mattress coversheet, a table, 3 chairs, a bookshelf, a cupboard). Private bathroom (shower, WC, washbasin) and a fitted kitchenette (3 hotplates, fridge)

  • telephone and TV socket in each studio flat, plus internet. Separate private kitchen with fridge and eating area.

  • Bedding, towels and dishes are NOT provided.

Connections :

Rooms and studio flats in buildings 11-13-18 and 20 offer a WiFi connection, the ones in buildings 5-7 and 9 offer a LAN connection. All have a TV socket and a telephone socket (contact house manager to get connection). Every person owning a device that allows them to listen to the radio or watch TV have to pay Billag AG license fees.

Room and studio upkeep :

  • the cleaning of communal areas (kitchen and sitting room) must be done regularly and in turns by each tenant
  • each tenant is responsible for cleaning his/her own room/studio flat including the shower/WC (periodic checks are made by FMEL staff).
  • Detergents, brooms, duster and hoover can be borrowed from the house manager.

Hours of silence at night and other cohabitation rules

  • Tenants shall show due respect to their neighbours and should not make any noise inside or outside the building (music, talking, bottles thrown in the container, car doors slammed, etc. after 10 p.m.)

The residence is for both men and women

TEMPORARY rentals during the summer (June to August):

  • In the summer, from June  to August, some rooms are available for rent on a short-term basis depending on our availability. Priority will be given to students.

  • For the rental fees, including the bedding kit (pillow, sheets, blanket) see Rental Fees under lease type “Tempo”.  The full amount of rental and the deposit must be paid in advance.
