Lodge hours: Mr. Duranot house manager, is present every morning, between 7.30 – 8.00 a.m.

Description of site:

114 fully furnished single rooms in shared apartments; each room has a bed with mattress and mattress coversheet, a table, a chair, a bedside table, a cupboard, a standing lamp and some book shelves.
rooms are 14 to 15 m2
bathrooms (WC, shower, washbasin) most apartments have two bathrooms, these are shared by 3 or 4 others, fitted kitchen and living room for those living in the apartment.
there are a few rooms available for the physically disabled.
21 fully furnished studio flats for 1 or 2 persons (beds with mattress and mattress coversheet, a table, 3 chairs, a bedside table, a cupboard, a standing lamp and some bookshelves), private bathroom (shower, WC, washbasin) and fitted kitchen (3 hotplates plus fridge and oven)
studio flats are 23 to 26 m2

Bedding, dishes and towels are NOT provided.

Connections:

all rooms have a wireless hispeed internet connection, a TV socket (TV royalties – Billag must be paid by tenants who have a TV, Billlag AG and to get a connection: contact house manager.

Rent – PERMANENT residents:

monthly rent for a room (all inclusive) varies between CHF 470.– and CHF 520.–
monthly rent for a studio flat (all inclusive) varies between CHF 616.– et CHF 650.–
for persons subject to foreigner tax, there is an additional CHF 30.-

Lease:

minimum 3 months. Termination in writing, a month in advance for the end of the month.
maximum duration 5 years, or completion of Master’s degree.
security deposit is equivalent to one and a half months’ rent.

Room upkeep:

residents are responsible for cleaning the communal areas (kitchen, living room, bathrooms and corridors) regularly in each apartment. Each resident is also responsible for cleaning his/her own room/studio.
to do so, brooms, dusters and a hoover can be borrowed from the house manager. (Periodic checks are made by FMEL staff).

please respect neighbours and refrain from making noise outside (playing loud music, having discussions, throwing bottles into the container, slamming car doors, etc) after 10 p.m

Temporary rentals during the summer:

In the summer, from June onwards for reservations of 3 months or under, prices applicable are as per website with an additional Sf 200.- for a room and an additional Sf 250.- for a studio. A security deposit of Sf 400.- will need to be paid. Total rent and deposit must be paid in full in advance. If you are interested in this offer, you need to sign up on our website www.fmel.ch under “temporary rental” and then send an e-mail to the house of your first choice. You will be contacted roughly one month prior to your arrival date if we have a room to offer you. This offer is also valid in Bourdonnette, Cedres, Triaudes and Marcolet and rentals in these houses are for full months only.

The FMEL administration office is closed on Tuesday mornings until 2.p.m. From July to August, the administration is closed Tuesday, all day long.

2 washing machines (prepaid card system – contact house manager) and 2 dryers (free of charge).

Waste disposal:

waste must be sorted bins are located in the garage) : please contact house manager.
by systematically and properly sorting your waste, you contribute to protecting the environment. Thank you for your cooperation.

Parking:

a dozen parking spaces in the garage are available to house residents and can be rented for Fr.50.-/month (contact Mrs Cuénoud or the house manager).

Bicycles :

several spaces are available in the garage for house residents. Check with house manager.

Cellar – storage:

areas are available for house residents. Please check with house manager.
