Lodge hours: Mr. Daellenbach house manager, is present every morning, between 7.30 – 8.00 a.m.
Description of site :
- 118 fully furnished single rooms (a bed and mattress with mattress coversheet, a table, a chair, a cupboard, a bookshelf, an armchair and bedside table), in appartments with 2,3, or 4 other rooms.
- rooms are 14 to 15 m2
- bathrooms (WC, shower,washbasin) shared by 2 or 3 other persons
- fitted kitchen and living room shared by 3, 4 or 5 persons
all flats have a balcony or terrace
4 furnished studio flats for 2 persons (2 beds and mattress with mattress coversheet, 2 tables, 2 armchairs, 3 chairs, 2 bedside tables, a bookshelf and a two-door cupboard, private bathroom (shower, WC, washbasin) and a fitted kitchen (2 hotplates, micro-wave, fridge)
studio flats are 21 m2
Bedding, sheets, towels and dishes are NOT provided..
Connections :
- All rooms rooms and studio flats have an internet connection (modem in N° 10 to 22 – wireless in N° 46 to 52), a TV socket (TV royalties (Billag) must be paid by tenants who have a TV: Billlag AG and a telephone socket (to obtain a connection: contact the house manager).
Rent – PERMANENT residents :
monthly rent for a room (all inclusive) varies between CHF 467.– and CHF 497.–
monthly rent for a studio flat (all inclusive) is CHF 637.–
monthly rent for a double studio flat occupied by two people (all inclusive) is CHF 710.-
for persons subject to foreigner tax, there is an additional CHF 30.-.
Lease :
- Minimum 3 months. Termination in writing, a month in advance for the end of the month.
- Maximum duration 5 years, or completion of Master’s degree.
- Security deposit is equivalent to one and a half months’ rent. Reimbursed after check-out with house manager and at FMEL office only. see house rules
Room Upkeep :
- the cleaning of communal areas (bathroom, kitchen, living room and corridors) must be carried out regularly by each tenant in turn.
- each tenant is responsible for claning his/her own room/studio flat (periodic checks are made by FMEL staff).
- brooms, duster and hoover can be borrowed at the house manager’s.
Quiet hours and other house rules :

- please respect neighbours and refrain from making noise outside (playing loud music, having discussions, throwing bottles into the container, slamming car doors, etc) after 10 p.m.
All residences are for both men and women.
Temporary rentals during the summer :
- In the summer, from June onwards for reservations of 3 months or under, prices applicable are as per website with an additional Sf 200.- for a room and an additional Sf 250.- for a studio. A security deposit of Sf 400.- will need to be paid. Total rent and deposit must be paid in full in advance. If you are interested in this offer, you need to sign up on our website www.fmel.ch under “temporary rental” and then send an e-mail to the house of your first choice. You will be contacted roughly one month prior to your arrival date if we have a room to offer you. This offer is also valid in Bourdonnette, Cedres, Ochettes, and Triaudes and rentals in these houses are for full months only.

Laundry :
- a washing machine (prepaid card system – check with house manager) and a dryer (free) at entrance in buildings 46 to 50.
Waste disposal :
- waste must be sorted as follows (bins are located at entrance of each building) :
- household waste
- paper and cardboard (no milk or juice containers, etc please)
- glass
- PET, aluminum, compost and other waste: see community regulations on display on bulletin board in front of building 52 near the lettreboxes.
- large objects are collected every first Wednesday of each month.
- by systematically and proprely sorting your waste, you contribute to protecting the environment.

Parking :
- spaces are available in the underground parking lot (key necessary) at CHF 50.-/month. (check with house manager).
Bikes :
- a closed bike park is available to house residents, room key necessary.
Cellars – storage :
- small storage space available to house residents in cellar for each appartment. Contact house manager.
