GENERAL INFORMATION
Lodge hours: Mr. Mourad house manager, is present every morning, between 8.00 – 8.30 a.m. On Mondays and Thursdays he is there in the afternoon too, between 1.30 – 2.00 p.m.
Description of site:
- 239 fully furnished single rooms; each room has a bed and mattress with a mattress coversheet, a table, a chair, a cupboard, in shared apartments of 4 or 5 persons.
- each room is approximately 14.5 m2
- shared bathrooms (WC, shower, washbasin) for 2 or 3 persons
fitted kitchen and living room for 4 or 5 persons
25 fully furnished studio flats for 1 person (a bed and mattress with mattress coversheet, 2 tables, 3 chairs, a two-door cupboard),private bathroom (shower, WC, washbasin) and a fitted kitchenette (2 hotplates, micro-wave, fridge)
studio flats are approximately 21 m2
Bedding, dishes and towels are NOT provided.
Connections:
- all rooms and studio flats have an internet connection (to obtain connection, check website etudnet.org), a TV socket (TV royalties – Billag must be paid by tenants who have a TV,) Billlag AG and a telephone socket (contact house manager to get connection).
Rent – PERMANENT residents:
- monthly rent for a room (all inclusive) is CHF 520.-.
- monthly rent for a studio flat (all inclusive)is CHF 640.-.
- for persons subject to foreigner tax, there is an additional CHF 30.-.

Lease:
- minimum duration 3 months. Termination in writing, a month in advance for the end of the month.
- maximum duration 5 years, or up to completion of Master’s degree.
- security deposit equivalent to approximately one and a half month’s rent.

Room upkeep:
- residents are responsible for cleaning the communal areas (kitchen, living room, bathrooms and corridors) regularly in each apartment. Each resident is also responsible for cleaning his/her own room/studio flat.To do so, brooms, dusters and a hoover can be borrowed from the house manager. (Periodic checks are made by FMEL staff).

- please respect neighbours and refrain from making noise outside (playing loud music, having discussions, throwing bottles into the container, slamming car doors, etc) after 10 p.m.
All residences are for both men and women
TEMPORARY rentals during the summer (June to August):
- In the summer, from June onwards for reservations of 3 months or under, prices applicable are as per website with an additional Sf 200.- for a room and an additional Sf 250.- for a studio. A security deposit of Sf 400.- will need to be paid. Total rent and deposit must be paid in full in advance. If you are interested in this offer, you need to sign up on our website www.fmel.ch under “temporary rental” and then send an e-mail to the house of your first choice. You will be contacted roughly one month prior to your arrival date if we have a room to offer you. This offer is also valid in Cedres, Ochettes, Triaudes and Marcolet and rentals in these houses are for full months only.

Shared areas:
- house residents may use a small shaded area with tables and benches outside as well as the table tennis provided.
Laundry:
- 1 washing machine (prepaid card system – contact house manager) and 1 dryer (free of charge) per building.
Waste disposal:
Waste must be sorted as follows: (bins are located in building 46, ground floor) :
- household waste
- paper and cardboard
- glass
- PET
- compost

By systematically and properly sorting your waste, you contribute to protecting the environment.

Parking:
- there are no parking spaces available for house residents.
Bicycles:
- 2 closed-in bike parks are available to house residents only. They can be accessed by using the room key.
Cellars – storage:
- there is no cellar area, but house residents have a storage area above the bookshelves to store large objects such as suitcases.
